• Loan NOC from the bank, if the vehicle was financed

• Certificate of Deposit (CoD): Proof that your vehicle was handed over for scrapping. It is digital and can be traded.
• Registration fee waiver: Your new vehicle's registration fee can be waived when you show the CoD, as per the scrappage policy.
• Road tax concession: Under the national scrappage policy, states can offer up to 25% off road tax on a new private vehicle and up to 15% on a commercial vehicle. Check the current rate with the Delhi Transport Department.
• Delhi EV incentive: Delhi's EV Policy 2026 (in force from 1 July 2026) offers up to Rs 1 lakh when you scrap a Delhi-registered BS-IV or older car and buy a new electric car under Rs 30 lakh within six months of getting the CoD. Rules and limits can change, so confirm before you buy.
• Clean exit: Your registration is cancelled, so you avoid misuse of an old vehicle under your name.
